From the Screen to a New Story
For over fifteen years, Nitin Sahrawat was a familiar face in Indian households. He starred in prime-time television shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Kitani Mohabbat Hai Season 2 and Qubool Hai.
As an actor for television advertising campaigns, he appeared in over 150 commercials for brands including Samsung, LG, Fiat Punto, Maruti Suzuki 800, Hyundai Santro, Hero Motocorp, TVS Motorbikes, Nestlé, Nokia, Odonil, Sunsilk, Fair & Lovely, Santoor, Tide, Ariel and Indian Oil Corporation.
While his successful career was profiled in major publications, Nitin’s true calling wasn’t on the red carpet — it was waiting in the Himalayan foothills.
The Turning Point: Behind the Glossy Ads
Life on set meant 12–14 hours a day under harsh lights and chemical-laden makeup. Shooting these commercials, Nitin saw a glaring gap between the glossy promise of beauty products and the truth of their formulas. In 2016, he stepped away from the limelight and returned to Dehradun — with his beloved dog, Thor — to build a brand where truth is the ultimate luxury and transparency the most valuable ingredient.
A Life of Uncompromising Focus
In 2002, he left his Mechanical Engineering degree after the first year, disillusioned with the education system, and moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams of being a part of the Indian Television & Film Industry.
“Since moving to Dehradun, my life has had two pillars: building BestIndian™ and protecting the animals and forests under my care.”
In his late-thirties, he embarked on an arduous six-year academic journey, starting with a three-year graduation course that he completed with high distinction. His score of over 70 percent earned him a place on the first merit list for the LLB program at DAV PG College, Dehradun (affiliated with HNBGU, a Central University). Persevering with his studies in his forties, he completed the three-year law degree and emerged as a registered lawyer — all while single-handedly building BestIndian™.
Master of Intellectual Property
Nitin has personally filed, fought, and secured ownership of 35+ trademarks across classes 3, 5, 25, 28, 30, 35 & 41 — overcoming objections and oppositions to protect his brands.
Atal Vatika: The Living Forest 🌳
Nitin’s environmentalism is hands-on. In Dehradun, on barren, trash-filled land, he planted a forest. He personally cultivated and nurtured numerous native trees — Kadamba, Rudraksha, Amla — restoring biodiversity and creating a thriving habitat where birds returned after decades to nest and feed. He planted a Rudraksha tree to honor the soldiers of the Bihar Regiment.
The Himalayan Solution: Where Science Meets Ayurveda
Early schooling at Saraswati Shishu Mandir introduced him to Ayurveda. His forest work deepened his botanical knowledge. Founding BestIndian™, he merged this wisdom with modern dermal science, collaborating with scientists to create trademarked bioactive formulas from phytochemicals — performance without toxins.
